Drill Team:
The LHS Drill Team is comprised of nearly 45 cadets.  Joining the Drill Team is done on a purely volunteer basis.  They compete in a number of competitions each school year in places like Como Park (MN), Des Moines (IA), SF Washington HS, and the LHS Invitational.  The Drill Team and Color Guard also march in local parades and perform at many civic events citywide.  Each Cadet works extremely hard at perfecting the various basic movements and they dedicate even more effort to master the exhibition drill movements similiar to those conducted by the Marines of 8th & I.

The Drill Team has five teams and they are:
- Varsity unarmed exhibition platoon
- Varsity armed exhibition platoon
- Varsity armed regulation platoon
- Varsity unarmed regulation platoon
- LE-1 squad

Color Guard
:
The LHS JROTC Color Guard has the honor of presenting the National Flag and Organizational Colors of the Marine Corps at many varsity athletic games and civic events.  Each cadet must pass a detailed try-out before earning a position on the varsity team.  These cadets also get to wear the Marine Corps dress blue unifom.  The color guard duties are done on a purely volunteer basis and each cadet should be extremely proud to be part of this team.
