- The LHS JROTC Cadets are very involved in their community.  As future leaders, they volunteer over one thousand man hours per year to various events in the Sioux Falls area.  Part of being a responsible citizen is getting involved and making a difference in the lives of others in your community.  The Cadets truly demonstrate awareness and concern for the people of Sioux Falls.  Some of the major community volunteer projects include:
               - Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #628 monthly Pancake breakfast and Poppy Drives
               - "Project Warm-up" - making blankets for underprivelged kids in Sioux Falls
               - Color Guards for school and civic events
                                                                                 - Rifle exhibitions at local civic events
                                                                                 - Falls Park clean up
                                                                                 - Food giveaway in conjunction with local churches
                                                                                 - Veteran's Affairs events
